A little like the boring science videos we were forced to watch in class or a David Brent-style office presentation - traditionally corporate videos have had a bad image - considerably dull and cringe-worthy. You certainly wouldn’t acquaint those ‘corporate’ films with the same filmmakers who you might expect at the Oscars?

For Deckchair at least, we are directors who have come to it back to front. Between us we have won all variety of awards for our original films. Recently director Mark Gill, BAFTA nominated earlier this year has now also been short-listed for an Oscar nomination.

Having produced over three hundred corporate films, we believe there’s a few reasons why we enjoy it and continue to do so:

Responsibility -

In working direct to client, often one-to-one with CEO’s, we are trusted for our consultancy as much as for our creative directorship on behalf of the company. This endorsement counts. It invests you in the company. When you care, you deliver good work.

Independence -

Our background in independent production gives us a real edge in managing budgets and large teams of creatives and agencies, whilst being flexible, personal and efficient.

Value -

With very little we can achieve a lot. We are accustomed to making the most of work, it is in our interest to continually do better.

Plus as independent filmmakers we offer a lot more in terms of style, panache and profile. The talent we work with are the same teams who make the features. We feel valued and deliver excellent value.

Reward -

Great clients! The most interesting element of the job is the insight gained into all varieties of other peoples professions and businesses. It Is our job to understand you, and this personal level of consultancy is where we thrive.

Most importantly it is what allows the client to feel comfortable that the presentation of their business is in safe hands. Trust. Hence the nature of why all our corporate work to date has arrived via word of mouth.

Having fun and making a great film has so many immeasurable qualities. Simply to make people feel good about the company they work for, is very rewarding.
