Originating  as a new-writing theatre company in 2004, Deckchair has supported the work of many emerging new-writers, producing award-winning independent drama, documentaries and shorts, with multiple BAFTA and OSCAR nominated talent.

It began with the feature film, 'La Bella Figura' in 2006, written and directed by Harry Otto Brünjes. Shot on location in Rome, starring Emidio La Vella, Francesco Calabrese and Kathy Hollingsworth. Made as a student project, notoriously for £65!  La Bella Figura was received at over thirty festivals worldwide and celebrated with a screening at BAFTA in 2009. 

Deckchair Productions continued to support and develop the work its directors, including  Ed Scott Clarke, James Edenborough, Fernando Ruiz and Mark Gill, who was later BAFTA and OSCAR nominated (2014) for his short film  'The Voorman Problem' starring Martin Freeman and Tom Hollander.

In association with Honlodge productions Deckchair produced  'Full Time' written by Mark Gill and Will Thacker, as a development vehicle for Mark Gill's Morrisey biopic:  'England is Mine'. Full Time (2013) starring Chris Langham, Kieran Hill, Margot Leicester, Huw Higginson, opened as official selection 57th BFI London Film Festival 2013. Winning Best Film (Grand Short) & Best Actor – Shanghai Film Festival 2014. Nominated: Best Film – Colchester Int Film Festival. Nominated: Jury Award – Leuven Int Short Film Festival.

Since 2018, Deckchair is focused on developing major projects for commercial film and television.
